Dr. Mark Shirey
Dr. Mark Shirey recieved his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He recieved his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Shirey's practice areas of interest include cornea, contact lens, ocular disease, and surgical co-management. He is certified in Diagnostic Pharmaceutical Agents as well as Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents. Dr. Shirey recieved A Top Ten Outstanding Clinician Award from the Southern College of Optometry. He also recieved the Bausch & Lomb Surgical Award from the Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Shirey was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa an academic honorary society. Dr. Shirey lives in West Mobile with his wife, Mary, and their daughter Caitie Beth. When not busy with his practice, he enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, and aviation. Dr. Shirey flew his first Solo flight on October 26, 2008.
Dr. Shirey was recently named the "Young Optometrist of the Year 2008" by the Alabama Optometric Association.
